How People Learn and What Technology Might Have To Do with It

Teachers as human beings that they are could not be ready for every aspect that happens in the world. They are not foretellers and probably due the factor that they have a live out the work environment they might not read the paper or watch the news every day. Those kinds of awkward moments with the technology could be present in any moment during the class. It is important to learn how to deal with these issues inside of the classroom, but like in the article if sometimes is necessary sending a kid to the principal office to make a stand, just do it.

LEARNING OCCURS IN CONTEXT
Technology can facilitate learning by providing real world contexts that engage learners in solving complex problems (Duffy & Cunningham, 1996; Honebein, 1996; & Cognition and Technology Group at Vanderbilt, 1992). See this idea, technology will become extremely important in any class in the future, our kids were born in a tech-age so for teachers in the future will be easier to explain difficult topics like math using media interactive games. Try to imagine a class of medicine where the future physicians could see every surgery in 3D as much time as they want, such example could save some lives in the future.

LEARNING IS ACTIVE
Be part of the solution, every time that a kid involves in the learning process the teacher win and the student gain knowledge, the process of learning by doing with the teacher as a facilitator, guiding the kid in every part, but let him constructing, build their own knowledge is the best way to achieve the maximum goal of a teacher, create a self sufficient person.

LEARNING IS SOCIAL
Globalization is real and is now. Why teachers could not use it in order to increase the level of expertise? And, why students could not use this global network to share information to obtain knowledge, to build networks that in the future they could use always thinking in the improvement of their lives.

LEARNING IS REFLECTIVE
Looking to inside is a great way to grow, but sometimes we need that an external helper gave us some advice. The same happen with our learning process teacher and student could gain a lot, with the appropriate feedback. Technology is an excellent tool to receive and to give feedback from anywhere and anytime.

One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men. No machine can do the work of one extraordinary man. ~Elbert Hubbard, The Roycroft Dictionary and Book of Epigrams, 1923

Integrating Educational Technology into Teaching. Linking the Internet with teaching techniques. Internet for Reading Activities and or Games

Technology
One definition of technology says that is the practical application of human knowledge for design of machines. At the end technology is a tool due the progress of human ability to solve problems. Like millions of years before the use of stones, wood and fire were important to human’s development and survival. Nowadays the use of technology made things easier and also help people to survive more years and healthier.
Among the advantages we could see the social networking, the worldwide access in one click, and the facility of making faster transactions. But some could say that some disadvantages such as people getting lazier, and probably people are less willing to think critically.
Technology for Learning.
The use of technology as a mean to support learning is an excellent tool in the classroom when the person in charge is able to use it properly. The student gain expertise applying what they learn in the class.
Instructional Technology.
It’s important that teacher get training to use technology, before they apply in the classroom. The teacher must receive instruction in technological field before they will be able to use every day with students.
Educational Technology.
Sum up, is the study of ethical practices in order to facilitate the learning and improving performance by creating, using and finally managing appropriate processes and resources. The benefits are easy to see, the access to course materials, the student motivation in the use of new technological tools, the wide participation and involvement should improve also the student writing skills and finally the subjects become easier to learn.
Elements of the Rationale for Teaching with Technology.
The most important element is the motivation. Also, the unique instructional capabilities are important in the role of technology in the classroom. It is also important increase the support for new instructional approaches in order to increase teaching productivity.
The Seven Principles.
It is of sum importance to encourage the contact between the student and the faculty in charge of technological area of the school. It must be developed the reciprocity and cooperation among students. We as teachers must encourage active learning, give a accurate and prompt feedback, emphasizes time on the tasks, communicate if they exist the high expectations on technology and carefully respect diverse talents and ways to learn.
